Flip-flops washed up on Kenya's beaches are cleaned, carved and turned into bright sculptures. The work gives jobs to more than 1,000 artisans and keeps the coast cleaner.

Our story
Boutique shops showcasing the best of Kenyan creativity and skill — beautiful products that celebrate the unique beauty of African design and culture. Shop local. Love global. Live inspired.
Each brand reflects true passion, craftsmanship and authenticity. Meet the makers

How it started
Welcome to Langata Link Shops — a project long in the making, and one I'm thrilled to share. It began in 2014 with a stubborn belief: that the craft coming out of Kenya — the beadwork and the leather, the kikoys and the carvings, the jewellery turned by hand — deserved a stage as beautiful as the work itself.
We started small, with a single boutique and a notebook full of makers we admired. Inside our shops you'll find more than beautiful pieces — you'll discover the stories, creativity and heart of the talented makers who make Langata Link Shops so special. Each brand reflects real passion, craftsmanship and authenticity.
Ten years on, that notebook has become a movement. We've partnered with over 200 brands and artisans, curated more than 9,000 one-of-a-kind pieces, and welcomed over 600,000 customers through our doors and onto our website — sending a little piece of Kenya to 37 countries and counting.
But the mission hasn't changed. We're still here to showcase the very best of Kenyan creativity and skill, and to make sure the hands that make these beautiful things are seen, celebrated and paid fairly for their art.
“We don't just sell products. We tell the story of the people who make them.”
With warm wishes,
Gemma McRae

Every piece on our shelves has a person behind it
Made kindly
Beautiful things shouldn't cost the earth. We seek out makers who work with what nature gives — upcycling waste into art, and crafting skincare, food and homeware from natural, organic ingredients.
Supporting them is the whole point: every purchase puts money straight into the hands of Kenyan artisans, paid fairly for their craft. And at our Karen complex you'll find one of Nairobi's few refill stations alongside a glass, plastic and paper recycling station — small habits that add up.

Langata Link Shops is part of the Langata Link Group — a family of Kenyan businesses built around one idea: connecting great local talent with the people who'll love what they make. Rooted in Nairobi and reaching far beyond it, the Group brings together retail, tourism and hospitality — including our garden café, Tin Roof — to champion the best of Kenya, at home and abroad.
